ART AND ARCHITECTURE TALKS AT THE ICA. 1 and 23 September 2011

What is the Use of Ornament in Contemporary Art and Architecture?

Glenn Adamson, craft theorist, historian and V&A curator; artist Grayson Perry; architect Sam Jacob of FAT; and Charles Jencks, architectural theorist and landscape architect, discuss ornamentation and decoration in art and architecture in a panel discussion that is likely to touch on craft, elitism and the very purpose of art.
1 September, 6.45pm. £12 / £11 Concessions / £10 ICA Members

Culture Now: Pablo Bronstein and Gregor Muir

Artist Pablo Bronstein and ICA director Gregor Muir discuss Bronstein’s recent work and ICA exhibition, Sketches for Regency Living, which continues until 25 September. Bronstein draws upon London’s Regency history and that of the ICA building for the exhibition, using a wide range of media to explore his interest in architecture and postmodernism from performance and drawing to installation and sculpture. His work demonstrates an affinity for how architecture and sculpture intervene in personal identity and inform our movements and social mores.
23 September, 1.15pm. £5 / Free to ICA Members.
